Opera and operetta embrace in a charming symbiosis in the thrilling premiere of Viva L’Operetta, Viva L’Opera on the ancient stage of the Plovdiv Roman Theatre. The production, set against majestic backdrops, follows a collage-style approach—cross-genre exchanges, marking a first-of-its-kind experiment on the Bulgarian music scene. The main goal, an elegant tease to the audience, is for viewers to recognize the transformation of the plot from opera to operetta. “The concept's foundation is to present iconic opera pieces and then transition to their counterparts in the operetta genre,” explains the show’s director, Georgi Dinev.
